GOOD PEOPLE, EVEN BETTER BEER.

We Newfoundlanders love our beer. In fact, we drink more beer per capita than anywhere else in Canada, so it’s safe to say we’ve fine-tuned our offerings over the years. There’s no better way to experience Newfoundland culture than spinning a yarn over a pint of brew made from ancient icebergs, or sampling a porter made from real molasses. Join us on a tasting tour and learn more about what makes Newfoundland such a unique place.

What a time!

If you're planning a visit to St. John's, or even if you've lived there your whole life, I highly recommend doing the Ultimate Townie Brew Tour! The tour is very informative. I very much enjoyed learning about the brewing process (smartly done at the beginning, before I was too under the influence to focus!). Kayla, the tour guide, told us incredible stories about the city and its history while en route to the different brew pubs. Let me tell you, they do NOT hold back on the beer! And the Food!!! The second stop, the Fifth Ticket, also fed us our choice of delicious appetizers to help absorb some of the copious amounts of beer we had. A third and final stop at Mill St. Filled us back up with beer. The entire tour was incredibly well organized and so much fun.  Put this on your summer list of things to do!

The beer tour surpassed my expectations!!! We started off with a tour of yellowbelly and Liam (the brew master) shared fascinating information about beer! Who new how important beer is to human culture/evolution?!!!!!! The beer was delicious and the tasting sizes were very generous!!! We had an amazing appy at fifth ticket and then ended the tour at the beer market!!! Kayla (the tour guide) was friendly and interesting.... she has a sincere interest in fun historical stories about drinking.... which kept me intrigued and kept the group laughing! I totally totally recommend this tour...... if you are looking for something fun and interesting to do!!!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of taking part in the inaugural Ultimate Townie Tour run by Kayla. She took our group to three locations; Yellow Belly Brewing, The Fifth Ticket and Mill Street Brew Pub. We enjoyed a flight of local beers, and learned some fascinating history of St. John's along the way! Kayla is an delightful and charming guide. Everything was incredibly well organized, flowed smoothly, and so very much fun! Everyone on the tour laughed and got along so well, that by the end of the 3 hours we just decided to keep our Saturday night going with our new friends. Highly recommend St. John's Beer Tours for groups or even individuals if you're travelling alone; it's an AWESOME way to make new friends and have a grand time!

Super fun!

I didn't know a lot about beer before, but after this tour, I got to taste a lot of different types, find out how they were made, and found some really delish samples that I will try again! I really liked the variety of breweries that we visited, what we tasted, and the different (all great) atmospheres. It was a GREAT way to meet new people and have a lot of fun, especially with the funny, friendly, and knowledgeable tour guide! Thank you, Kayla! If you are a CFA (Come-From-Away) or a true Newfoundlander (or Labradorian), this tour will please you!

Great experience! Ultimate Townie Tour

My wife and I had a great time doing the Ultimate Townie Tour last weekend! This is a must-do for tourists visiting St John's but is also highly recommended to locals. The tour at Yellowbelly brewery was very interesting and a great way to start the tour. The brewmaster showed us the equipment they use and explained the different methods and ingredients they use to produce their variety of beer. Our tour guide, Kayla, seemed very knowledgeable about the area and, during the short walk between the three bars, told us some interesting facts and stories about some of the sites we passed. It was great having the opportunity to sample so many local beers at once. Some of the samples were pretty generous as well! I recommend this tour highly to both tourists and locals.
